How To Build Your Workout Wardrobe 👚

As mentioned in the last blog post, what you wear in the gym has a huge impact on how confident and comfortable you feel. There are endless numbers of activewear brands, so I have compiled a list of my favourite brands ranging from expensive to affordable, whilst showing you how to get the best bargain!

Below, I have created an illustration of some of the activewear brands I have tried, focusing on my opinion of their quality and price.

1. Gymshark and Tala (High Price Range)

Gymshark (8.5/10)

My favourite fitness brand has to be Gymshark, the quality of their pieces are very high (I have owned most of my pieces for years!) and they have a wide variety of different coloured and patterned; leggings, shorts, tops, hoodies, sports bras, joggers etc, you are spoiled for choice! Gymshark is slightly pricier, however, they offer a student discount (10%) which gives you a little savings. I would recommend keeping your eye out around black Friday time as Gymshark usually have great deals on.

My favourite collection is the seamless collection as pieces are super sculpting!

Tala (8/10)

If you are looking for sustainable activewear then Tala are the brand for you. With primary focus on everything high quality, inclusivity and their environmental impact, Tala are an excellent activewear brand to add to your wardrobe. Although the items are expensive, the brands sustainable practises and clothing quality make them great investment pieces. The sizing range is also very inclusive ranging from 2XS to 4XL in a wide selection of pieces, making their clothing for everybody.

For environmentally conscious gym-goers, a great way to source gym clothing is through charity shops and online e-commerce platforms like Depop, eBay and Vinted. Sourcing gym clothes this way allows you to buy gym wear, new or pre owned, at a cheaper price whilst being environmentally conscious!

2.Nike (High To Middle Price Range)

Nike (7.5/10)

Nike are an excellent fitness brand for all your gym fashion needs. They are slightly more affordable than the brands mentioned above, however, still maintain high quality throughout their products. One Nike gym item I think is a must in your workout wardrobe are 'Nike Blazers', a flat trainer, great for any workout day. Similar to Gymshark, Nike also offers a student discount (10%). For those with a shoe size up to a UK 6, you can purchase these trainers from the Nike 'Older Kids' Shoes' section, which is £32 cheaper than the women's price!

3.Primark (Low Price Range)

Primark (7.5/10)

Lastly, Primark has a great activewear selection that is affordable and good quality. It can be expensive equipping yourself with all your gym essentials in the early stages, therefore brands like Primark are a great affordable option but still are one of my favourites! With a great selection of tops, leggings etc, they have all you need for your workout wardrobe at a price that won't break the bank.
